European Media and Platform Policy (EuromediApp) - Stakeholders

European Media and Platform Policy (EuromediApp) is a Jean Monnet network dedicated to studying, analysing and discussing benefits and challenges of digital platforms in Europe and world-wide.

By bringing together knowledge and research capacity from all over Europe and beyond, EuromediApp provides space for national and transnational deliberation on how future digital services should and will be governed. Working papers, teaching material, workshops, conferences and dedicated schools for advanced students are our working tools.

EuromediApp operates for three years (2020 – 2023) along three modules:

  1. European political democracy (inclusion and exclusion, diversity and uniformity, trust and distrust);
  2. Quality of European (news) ecology, including journalism, individualised procedures of political information, populism, polarisation and depolarisation, personalisation, scandalisation, information/propaganda/misinformation; and
  3. European governance models of digital media and the internet by media/platform companies and governments, utopian and dystopian views of digital media and democracy.

International Association of Women in Radio and Television (IAWRT) - Stakeholders

Established in the aftermath of World War II, IAWRT is a global network of women communicators and researchers. With 14 chapters across the world and members in 54 countries, it strives to meet the urgent global challenges faced by women in and around the media.

Through regional and international conferences, projects, training activities and publications, IAWRT is committed to the enhancement of women’s role and participation in media.

International Academy Belgrade - Stakeholders

International Academy in Belgrade is a specialised NGO for covering the daily life of persons with disabilities, as also of minorities, LGBT community diversities in the society and gender topics. Additional it covers sport topics, health topics, and supports the work of journalists and media in South, East and Central Europe in cooperation with partners.

International Academy is monitoring violations of rights of minorities, persons with disabilities, LGBT community and position of women / men / children in the society, family violence. International Academy publish public reactions.

International Academy Belgrade is partner organisation of the International Institute- International Media Center (II-IMC), South East and Central Europe PR Organisation (SECEPRO) and South East Europe Media Organisation (SEEMO).

Lithuanian Journalism Center - Stakeholders

The Lithuanian Journalism Centre (LJC) has been established by the Open Society Foundation on 30th of March 1995. The Centre has been registered as an independent non-governmental non-profit organisation for informal education.
The Lithuanian Journalism Centre:

  • organizes mid-career training courses for journalism professionals;
  • offers a 5 months-long journalism course for people without a journalism degree;
  • offers a 5 months-long public relations course for people without a PR degree;
  • organizes Sunday journalism schools for kids and teenagers;

Fojo is Sweden’s leading institute for media development, working to strengthen free, independent and professional journalism in Sweden and worldwide.

Fojo is an independent institute at the public Linnaeus University, one of Sweden’s biggest universities.

Since 1972, Fojo has built capacity of over 50,000 journalists from more than 100 countries, and is currently active in around 20 countries. Our work centres on the three key words – free, independent and professional.

The Pew Research Center is a non partisan fact tank based in Washington, D.C. conducting public opinion polling, demographic research, media content analysis and other empirical social science research in various research areas, including Journalism & Media.

MEMO 98 - Stakeholders

MEMO 98 conducts media monitoring and analyses, targeting the public and policy makers, on the role of media in the election processes. MEMO 98 monitoring activity is based on international standards concerning the media and the electoral process and democratic governance. Their mission is ensuring all citizens to have free access to comprehensive information. Their primary objective of MEMO 98's monitoring is to evaluate the range of political and social diversity in media reporting. 

The association has been working for 19 years in Slovakia and abroad. The most significant international projects carried out by MEMO 98 were conducted in the former Yugoslavia (2000), Belarus (2001, 2004, 2007 and 2008), Ukraine (2004, 2015-2016), Russia (2005-11, 2015), Azerbaijan (2008, 2013-2015), Myanmar (2010-11 and 2015-16), Serbia (2012-2014) and Georgia (2013-2015).

Mediacentar Sarajevo - Stakeholders

Mediacentar Sarajevo supports the development of independent and professional journalism in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Over time, activities have been expanded to include:

  • publishing;
  • media research;
  • PR training and consulting services;
  • AV production;
  • event management;

 An integral part of Mediacentar is Infobiro , an archive of print media from B-H and the former Yugoslavia and a library containing literature on mass media. Mediacentar also publish a regional journal on culture and literature called Sarajevske Sveske (Sarajevo Notebooks) . Mediacentar was founded by Open Society Fund of B-H in 1995 in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina. In 2000 it was registered as a separate education and research institution owned by Open Society Fund of B-H.

King’s College London’s Centre for the Study of Media, Communication and Power - Stakeholders

Based in the Policy Institute at King’s College London, the King’s College London’s Centre for the Study of Media, Communication and Power  explores how news provision, political communication, public discourse, civic engagement and media power are changing in the digital age. It does this through rigorous empirical research, and communication of the findings of this research to inform relevant academic and public policy debates and civic society responses, in order to help promote diversity, fairness, transparency and accountability in media and communication.

The Centre has developed from the foundations of the Media Standards Trust, an independent think tank that has been conducting research on issues of media and public policy since 2006, and has been based at the Policy Institute at King’s since September 2013.

The Centre is advised by a range of senior figures from the media and civil society.
